While speaking to the radio show FM Talk 106.5 in an interview that aired on Friday, February 5 in Mobil, Alabama, Republican Representative Mike Rogers said that the Democrats were setting a dangerous precedent with their recent decision to expel Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from all of her assigned congressional committees.

Despite that ominous precedent, Rogers has revealed that he’s happy that Democrats aren’t passing legislation while persecuting the likes of Greene and former president Trump.

Mike Rogers Speaks on Alabama Radio

In February, all of the House Democrats and 11 House Republicans voted to strip Marjorie Taylor Greene of her membership in all of the congressional committees to which she had been assigned.

It’s been said that this was done because Greene had at one time expressed support for a number of “conspiracy theories,” but the true reason is that Greene is a stanch populist who represents a threat to the ruling elite over the fact that she continues to believe — and publicly say — that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen from Donald Trump.

Greene was taken off of the House Committee on Education and Labor.

Rogers, an Alabama Representative, said the following in his interview with FM Talk 106.5:

“I hate what they’re doing with what we call MTG, Marjorie Taylor Greene, because it’s just a terrible precedent. They’re trying to hold something somebody said before they were in Congress and take their seats away.

And plus, we have never allowed in the history of Congress for the majority party to decide what committees minority parties are in… [I]f they go and do this, we’ve made it clear to them in 22 months when we’re in the majority, we’re going to do the exact same thing to them”

Rogers also said, “I’m not that unhappy about what they’re doing… I want them to spend a lot of time on silly stuff because that means they’re not passing bills.”
