The left has long been running roughshod on seemingly everything. Whether they’re banning people from social media and precutting them for merely having opinions that are out of step with the latest woke fad, or whether they’re physically attacking and harassing Trump supporters in the street, merely being “woke” appears to have become a sufficient excuse to do essentially whatever you want to conservatives.
All the while, the authorities — especially in Democrat-run cities and states — have either stood by and let it all happen or have actively abetted the mayhem.
People have long been fed up with this unbridled lunacy. Even prominent Democrats have been saying that they’ve had enough and have decided to walk away from the party.
One such example is ex-CIA agent Bryan Dean Wright.
Wright Has Had Enough
Writing for the Daily Caller, Wright — a frequent guest on conservative opinion shows like Tucker Carlson Tonight — has declared that, despite being a lifelong Democrat, he has finally had enough. In his piece, he describes how he simply can’t take any more of the left’s “systemic hatred,” saying that the Democratic Party and its many adjuncts have “inflamed profound political divisions and the predictable outcomes that come with them, most especially violence and destruction.”
The most horrendous example of all of this that Wright mentions is the series of riots that gripped the country throughout the summer of 2020 and beyond in the wake of the death of George Floyd.
Even though leaked police video showed that Floyd was already complaining that he couldn’t breathe before any cop ever placed his knee on his neck, and even though an autopsy of Floyd found him to have a fatal quantity of fentanyl in his system, leftists and opportunists blamed the police for what happened and used it as an excuse to loot, riot, and torch cities.
As Wright says, “over 700 federal, state and local law enforcement officers sustained injuries in violence perpetrated by Leftist rioters.” Among those Write mentioned was David Dorn, a retired St. Louis police captain who was murdered for defending his friend’s store.
Even worse, rhetoric from the shameless propagandists and establishment quislings in the media only fanned the flames.
All told, it was all enough to get Wright to abandon his lifelong allegiance to the Democratic Party.
“For Democrats like me, we have no choice: we have to leave,” he said. “We’re already leaving, it turns out, and joining the new, populist Republican Party.”
