CNN is basically just a carnival of lies pretending to be a news network.
The number of insane whoppers that they have expected the American public to swallow over the years has been truly staggering.
Back when WikiLeaks released Hillary Clinton’s emails, CNN’s Chris Cuomo went on the air and blatantly lied to the public that only journalists were legally allowed the read the contents of those emails. The network also, of course, spent years claiming that Trump colluded with the Russian government but never presented even a single smidgen of hard evidence to prove their case. Viewers were just expected to believe these things because people in “authority” were telling everyone to believe them.
Well, CNN is continuing on that same trajectory. Its lies are only becoming ever more blatant and ever more extreme.
The latest one? That the term “biological sex” is allegedly “disputed.”
Biological Sex Isn’t Real?
Specifically, CNN tried claiming this in an article written by reporter Devan Cole. The article was about South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s banning of biological boys and men from competing in girl’s and women’s sports in her state via executive order.
Here’s some of what Cole wrote:
“Though the two executive orders signed by Noem do not explicitly mention transgender athletes, they reference the supposed harms of the participation of ‘males’ in women’s athletics — an echo of the transphobic claim, cited in similar legislative initiatives, that transgender women are not women. The orders also reference ‘biological sex,’ a disputed term that refers to the sex as listed on students’ original birth certificates.”
And then, Cole says, “It’s not possible to know a person’s gender identity at birth, and there is no consensus criteria for assigning sex at birth.”
Reflect for a moment on how deranged and dishonest this is. To whom is the meaningfulness of the term “biological sex” “disputed?” Surely not to biologists or geneticists. There’s a very crisp and exact definition of what a man is and what a woman is, biologically speaking. A man is a member of the human species with an X chromosome and a Y chromosome, and a woman is a member of the human species with two X chromosomes. These are the two biological sexes, and the above define them precisely.
The only people to whom the term “biological sex” might be “disputed” are transgender activists, though it’s not clear why their opinions on this question should matter or be taken seriously. The article attempts to present biological sex as something that is arbitrarily written down on a piece of paper. That’s not what it is.
Secondly, scientific truths are not established by “consensus.” In science, people aren’t supposed to form committees to determine what is true. They are supposed to gather data, test hypotheses, and form theories. Science is not a social construct no matter how strenuously postmodernist left-wing activists like to pretend that it is.
Another day, another sample piece of propaganda from CNN.
