One of the most discussed controversies related to sexual harassment performed by a State representative has to be the Michelle Lujan Grisham case!

For over a year, the governor of New Mexico tried to dismiss any accusations that her former spokesperson, James Hallinan, included in a filed lawsuit.

Thus, it comes as quite a surprise that the Secretary of State’s office reported a reached settlement.

The relevant campaign financing report states that Lujan Grisham will pay over $60,000 in five installments to the abused coworker.

James Hallinan tweeting on sexual abuse

The man who was a part of Grisham’s gubernatorial campaign back in 2018 surprised everyone when he posted a tweet on his experience with the current governor of New Mexico, Lujan Grisham.

He suggested that the Gov. embarrassed him in front of senior staff by pouring water on his groin only to proceed and slap his genitals, laughing in the process.

James continued by posting that he isn’t her only victim as it appears that it is her method of dealing with staffers.

Just a couple of hours later, Grisham and her office responded, dismissing these accusations and suggesting that Hallinan’s behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional.

Campaign financial report referring to the reached settlement

On April 12th, Lujan Grisham’s campaign posted a financial report that revealed $62,500 paid to James Hallinan and justified legal expenses.

The representative of her office, Jared Leopold, suggested that the two parties have reached a settlement pointing to five $12,500 payments across November 2020 to March 2021.

He added that Michelle Lujan Grisham still strictly dismisses any of these accusations but didn’t want to spend any more time or effort on the blatant claims.

Jared Leopold suggested that dealing with the COVID19 pandemic is much more important than fighting off accusations from incidental employees, which is why they decided to reach a settlement to end the controversy.

Not an Isolated Controversial Case

Although a member of the Democratic Party, Michelle Lujan Grisham is widely known for her agenda against Biden’s policies.

She suggested that the ongoing energy consumption reform will hurt New Mexico in many ways.

Additionally, there is more than a single report on the Gov. spending the budget funds (taxpayer’s money) to finance her own needs, including luxurious food, liquor, and house maintenance.

Consequently, it doesn’t come as a surprise why tens of thousands of New Mexico citizens are calling for her dismissal.
