The implacable vindictiveness of the political establishment against Donald Trump beggars belief. Though the man is now out of office, those who attempted to obstruct, sabotage, derail and spread lies about him while he was president just cannot seem to let matters rest.

As shrewd political observers have been predicting would happen, the fact that Trump has now been forced out of the presidency does not spell the end of his troubles. In many ways, it indicates that they are only just beginning.

Reports have recently emerged that the New York Attorney General’s investigation into the Trump Organization, long a mere civil matter, has now graduated to the status of a “criminal” probe.

The reasons why are, of course, totally nebulous, and purposely so.

But Trump, in his own inimitable style, has decided to fire back.

Trump Responds

Having been chased off of virtually every major social media platform, Trump now communicates with his supporters and the world at large through his personal website Using the site’s blog feature, called “From the Desk of Donald Trump,” he posts periodic commentary on various events there.

Commenting on this new announcement by the New York AG, Trump said on Wednesday, May 19 that, “There is nothing more corrupt than an investigation that is in desperate search of a crime. But, make no mistake, that is exactly what is happening here.”

On May 18, NY AG Letitia James announced the start of a criminal probe into the Trump Organization.

Her spokesman, Fabien Levy, wrote the statement on her behalf and declared, in part, that “We are now actively investigating the Trump Organization in a criminal capacity, along with the Manhattan D.A. We have no additional comment at this time.”

This total unwillingness to offer an explanation for the decision speaks volumes, but as Trump went on to explain, “The Attorney General of New York literally campaigned on prosecuting Donald Trump even before she knew anything about me. She said that, if elected, she would use her office to look into ‘every aspect’ of my real estate dealings. She swore that she would ‘definitely sue’ me.”

As Joseph Stalin’s one-time chief of security Lavrentiy Beria is famously reported to have said, “Show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.” Just as Stalin persecuted his political enemies under cover of law, so Democrat-connected AGs and political hacks will be doing the same.

Trump’s true “crime” is that he exposed both parties of the political establishment and revealed them to be the mendacious crooks and cockroaches that they really are. For that unpardonable sin, he is, in the eyes of the political establishment, guilty of everything — both imaginable and unimaginable. If these people cannot pin an actual crime on him, they will attempt to invent one. In fact, they are virtually certain to invent one.

If they didn’t know it before, Trump and his supporters about to learn a hard lesson about the realities of politics — that everything is ultimately about power and that “law” is just a means of exercising that power.

“This is,” as Trump put it, “something that happens in failed third world countries,” but it is a reality.

Let us hope that Trump is prepared for what will be coming his way.
