Visit to Harlem Not All Sunshine and Roses for Biden and Fauci

Dr. Jill Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci visited Harlem on Sunday afternoon in an effort to encourage more people to get the COVID-19 vaccine. However, did this plan backfire?

Details of Visit

Biden and Fauci visited a COVID-19 vaccination site located at the Abyssinian Baptist Church in the heart of Harlem. During the 40-minute visit, the two watched approximately 15 people get their vaccine. They also seized the opportunity to give remarks to the media that was onsite to give them press for the visit.

Missteps Along the Way

There were a few missteps with the pair’s visit. Both the first lady and the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) wore masks for their entire visit.

Many people question why they need to be wearing masks if they are both fully vaccinated? Isn’t one of the whole points of getting vaccinated to earn some freedom back in our lives? What kind of message are these two leaders sending by continually wearing their masks when they have been vocal about the fact that they are both fully vaccinated?

Protesters Mar Visit

In addition, the two encountered angry protestors lining the streets of Harlem. The dozens of protestors yelled at Biden and Fauci from about a half-block away from the church. Fauci was particularly under scrutiny as the protestors chanted “Fire Fauci.”

Fauci has been in the news lately for his alleged mishandling of the COVID-19 crisis. More and more people are demanding accountability from the man who was once on a pedestal.
