Just head of the grim 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, DC, families of the 9/11 victims are utterly outraged as impudent leftists have started to argue that the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol has been worse.

Shameless comparisons by lefties between the Capitol riot and what has been the single deadliest attack on US soil have started to figure more prominently in recent months.

Jim Riches, a retired Deputy Fire Chief of NYC, told Fox News on Saturday that both he and 9/11 victims’ families that he’s talked to are extremely enraged by the comparison.

He called the leftist claims “a shame”, and as they are comparing the death of 3,000 people to the recent events at the US Capitol only to score political points.

Riches added the families of the 9/11 victims unconditionally find that outrageous and are “really angry.”

Shame, shame, shame!

Family members of the Al Qaeda terrorists’ victims in NYC and DC 20 years ago have also spoken out.

One of those is Debra Burlingame, who is the sister of the pilot of American Airlines Flight 77 who got killed by the terrorists as they hijacked the plane and then managed to crash it into the Pentagon.

Burlingame declared the lefties’ 9/11 – 1/6 comparison as “unfortunate” against the backdrop of the 20th anniversary of the largest terrorist attacks in America’s history.

She told Fox News that a lot of young people don’t have the memory of 9/11, and the “comparisons and analogies” in question “minimize” what happened.

Burlingame described the leftists’ allegations as “inflated and ridiculous” and as a “deliberate ploy.”

In an op-ed she wrote for The Wall Street Journal, Burlingame also spoke out about how “offensive and sad” it is that “political partisans” are utilizing the memories of 9/11 for their gain.

Another relative of a victim, Joe Connor, whose cousin Steven Schlag died in the World Trade Center, said in turn that the comparisons between the Capitol riot and 9/11 are “gaslighting” and they “dehumanize our families” so that somebody could benefit from that politically.

Connor, who himself was in Manhattan when the WTC towers fell, stated further that the leftists telling the lies are either “ignorant” or “really devious and clever.”

The bottom of humanity

He recalled how he saw people jumping out the towers’ windows, and the overall horror of 9/11, saying those lying about it being comparable with the Capitol riot might think that the victims’ relatives have forgotten.

The comparisons between the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the Capitol riot have come from numerous top-ranking leftist figures – starting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with her calls of a “9/11-type Commission” which was supposed to investigate the events on January 6.

Matthew Dowd, who was a former strategist for President George W. Bush but is now a left-wing MSNBC pundit, declared that despite the difference in the loss of life between the two events, he considers the Capitol riot to be worse because it continues “to rip our country apart” as well as has allowed “people to pursue autocratic means.”

The Huffington Post’s White House correspondent, S.V. Dáte, said the Capitol riot was “1000% worse” than 9/11 since Osama bin Laden’s terrorists didn’t threaten “the heard of the American experiment,” whereas, in Dáte’s words, “the 1/6 terrorists” did that.

Steve Schmidt, who is a former Republican but presently a Democratic strategist, and is known for being a co-founder of the now-disgraced Lincoln Project, probably made the most brazen comments, where he said that the Capitol riot was “profoundly more dangerous” than 9/11.

Schmidt and other leftists are clearly disregarding the more than 3,000 Americans who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks as well as the 4,500 US service members who died in Iraq and 2,400 who died in Afghanistan, in the wars in which the US went after the terrorists.
