Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Senator Bernie Sander, and Representative Earl Blumenauer have together introduced a bill that would enable the president to declare a national emergency over the climate.
This would grant the president enormous powers and allow him to keep the lockdowns going in full force. Even though things have been trending positively with the coronavirus for many months now and the media has been ludicrously fixed on the meaningless metric of “cases” in order to try and make things look bad, politicians like AOC and Bernie Sanders want nothing more than to increase their power at any cost.
This bill would allow them to do precisely that.
What’s in This Bill?
In part, this new bill, called the National Climate Emergency Act, would make it so that the “government would limit private vehicle use, ban the consumption of red meat, and impose extreme energy-saving measures, while fossil fuel companies would have to stop drilling.”
The Global Elite Love This
This all sounds totally insane and blatantly destructive, but the global elite love it and have been advocating measures for some time. For example, Karl Lauterbach, an MP for the German Social Democratic Party, wrote in Die Welt recently that “we need measures to deal with climate change that are similar to the restrictions on personal freedom [imposed] to combat the pandemic.”
Lauterbach did not bother to explain why we allegedly “need” such things, nor did he deign to allow the people to have any say as to whether they truly “needed” such measures. His mere say-so was enough.
Arch-elitist John Kerry concurs with this assessment. He, too, has recently been saying that the conditions of the Paris Climate Agreement, which Biden will be bringing the US back into, are “inadequate.”
Ordering shutdowns, and thereby driving countless businesses and industries into bankruptcy, would be the perfect means by which to effect government takeovers. Once firms have been bankrupted by government-mandated shutdowns, this fact will be used to “prove” that capitalism doesn’t work and will be used as an excuse for the government to take over.
Whether this is done through direct nationalization or by means of government bailouts with strings attached ultimately does not matter. The result will be global technocratic socialism.
