The recent death of Prince Philip has put the British royal family back in the spotlight. At the forefront of the discussion is the question surrounding Philip’s fidelity.

Questions Raised by “The Crown”

The questions were initially raised on the hit Netflix show “The Crown.” The show portrayed the prince as a womanizer in the early episodes. While Queen Elizabeth II was undoubtedly a strong woman, the show painted her as largely turning the other cheek when confronted with her husband’s misgivings.

No Documented Proof

Despite all of the whisperings, there has never been any documented proof regarding Prince Phillip’s alleged affairs. Mike Parker, Philip’s private secretary, has been adamant that the prince has always been faithful to the Queen, his wife of 73 years. Philip also once scolded a reporter for asking about this faithfulness, reminding her that he does not go anywhere without a police escort, making it difficult to cover up any alleged affairs.

Rumored Affair with Famous Dancer

Rumors once circulated that Philip had an affair with Pat Kirkwood, a dancer and stage actress. According to a report from The Daily Beast, the Palace did nothing to contain the rumors of the affair between Philip and Kirkwood. She once lamented that her career was defined by the rumors, despite there being no proof to the gossip. She also once said that it was not her job to defend her honor, placing the blame on Philip for not coming to her defense.

Prince Philip passed away on April 9, 2021, at the age of 99.
