Parents have been shocked and outraged when a children’s event at Goodmayes Library in London featured the participation of a male actor dressed as a “Rainbow Dildo Butt Monkey”, a multi-colored character with openly visible fake genitalia.

Goodmayes Library has issued an apology over the incident, and an investigation has been launched as to who is responsible for the appearance of a man in a costume with a fake penis and fake naked butt cheeks in front of kids.

The Rainbow Dildo Butt Monkey somehow got to participate at the Summer Reading Challenge event organized by Redbridge Libraries, which was held at the London’s Goodmayes Library.

It is clearly visible in footage of the Mandinga Arts Group.

While the other two participating actors were a “Royal Strawberry” and a Frog, it was the appearance of the monkey with a dildo for a penis and nude buttocks that stirred immediate outrage among the parents who had brought their kids to the reading challenge event.

Many more have since questioned the judgment of those who organized the event.

Anita Boateng, Redbridge Conservative Councillor, told LBC that the decision of the library to use a monkey with a dildo penis costume in front of the children was “absolutely bizarre.”

School governor Has Ahmed said that the Rainbow Dildo Butt Monkey is maybe somehow supposed to stimulate children in Redbridge to choose their reading for the summer, before they enquire about the meaning of the obscene costume.

Nobody involved in the event in any form has been able to explain as to how the dildo monkey costume could have been deemed suitable for a children’s reading campaign.

Redbridge Libraries declared in its statement that, as the event included a performance by a firm called Carnival Arts Company, one of the costumes “was inappropriate” but the library itself hadn’t been aware of that when it booked the actors.

It said it “apologizes deeply” for causing offense, and promised that another statement will be issued when the incident gets investigated.

Redbridge Libraries also said the event had been arranged not by the Redbridge Council but by a firm called Vision, and that it was stopped as soon as the library staff realized the gravity of the situation.

The Mandinga Arts Group, which carried out the performance, also issued an apology, declaring it never wished to offend anybody.

It is yet to provide any new information after its last statement of apology, which is from July 11, 2021.

Redbridge Council leader Jas Anthwal declared that all future performances will be canceled as a result of the appearance of the Rainbow Dildo Butt Monkey at the library children’s even, and that he himself launched a full-fledged investigation.
