The government of China is most probably aware of the precise origin of the COVID-19 virus, but it is refusing to reveal the most important and most telling piece of evidence, according to Scott Gottlieb, former Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.
Gottlieb said that, based on the evidence they have at their disposal as the origin country, the Chinese authorities likely know where and how exactly the coronavirus originated.
The comments by the former chief of the FDA come against the backdrop of the mainstream media’s recent shift from ignoring to beginning to cover and explore the theory that COVID-19 originated in a Chinese state-run laboratory, more precisely the Virology Institute in the city of Wuhan.
According to Gottlieb, the most important piece of evidence in the COVID origins quandary would be blood samples from workers in the Wuhan Institute lab.
Thanks to blood samples, the Chinese authorities would know the truth, and that is precisely the piece of evidence that they have refused to reveal, points out the FDA chief who served from 2017 to 2019.
Gottlieb stated that if the blood samples of the Chinese lab workers showed a high prevalence of exposure to the COVID-19 virus, those samples would present solid proof that the devastating global pandemic originated there.
He is convinced that China must be in possession of such blood samples since blood sampling would have been routine in the lab in Wuhan in the event of any illness among the staff – meaning there would be no way the Chinese government could be lacking that information.
In his interview, Gottlieb sought to emphasize how China could have done much, much more in order to enable the proper international investigation into the origins of COVID-19 but has instead refused to do so.
Besides refusing to reveal the blood samples of the Wuhan Institute laboratory workers, Beijing has also refused to give out any of the original strains, nor has it allowed any access to some of the early samples so that international scientists could sequence them.
The Chinese have also failed to provide any information on the inventory on the virology institute at the time when the coronavirus outbreak began.
China is covering its tracks
The ex-FDA commissioner went further by noting that “these kinds” of leaks from laboratories, and from Chinese laboratories, in particular, had been a constant occurrence.
Thus, the last six outbreaks of SARS-1, which are known to the international community, have come out of labs, Gottlieb notes.
That includes the last SARS-1 outbreak which was a very big one, and for which China adamantly refused to recognize, until it was eventually traced to a Chinese laboratory by some journalists.
Gottlieb further stated that in recent weeks “the ledger” in favor of the theory stipulating that the COVID-19 pandemic, which has devastated the world, did in fact originate in a Chinese laboratory had been growing.
He said the other side of that ledger, which favors a zoonotic source as the virus origin hadn’t really panned out.
The greatest evidence of that is the fact that “no such animal” has been found that may have categorically been proclaimed the source of COVID-19.
The theory that the wet food market in Wuhan was in any way involved in the original outbreak of the virus has now been utterly disproven, the ex-FDA chief states.
