Another Muted 4th of July After Vaccination Goal Falls Short

It was not quite the 4th of July celebration that Joe Biden had envisioned. A few months ago, the Biden administration set forth an aggressive goal for the 4th of July holiday. Biden and his team wanted 70% of eligible adult Americans to have at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine prior to the holiday. The goal was to use this occasion to celebrate America’s independence as well as the victory over the deadly virus.

That did not work out so well for Biden. According to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Biden fell short of this goal with only 67% of eligible adults receiving one shot of the vaccine prior to the 4th of July weekend.

Biden Family Hosts Party

Despite failing in their goal, the Biden family still went full steam ahead with hosting a massive party on the South Lawn of the White House. Approximately 1,000 people showed up at the bash to celebrate America’s independence.

The party felt like a slap in the face to South Dakota Kristi Noem after the federal government denied a permit to hold a fireworks display at Mt. Rushmore.

Vaccine Hesitancy to Blame

The reason for the slowing immunization rates is because of vaccine hesitancy. There is no doubt that it is easier than ever to get the vaccine. Nearly every American could walk into any pharmacy today and get the vaccine on the spot.

However, the vaccination rate has dropped to only about 500,000 per day. This is down from the peak of about 3.5 million per day in April. Is this on Biden? Many think so.
