Popular libertarian comedian Joe Rogan has riled up the left once again, this time by announcing that he contracted COVID-19 and got treated with “all kinds” of medications, including ivermectin, an anti-parasite drug for deworming horses and cattle.

Rogan, who has a $100 million contract with Spotify for his podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience”, has been criticizing the COVID-19 vaccines, the lockdown measures, and the vaccine passports – which he said would bring America closer to dictatorship, and he is probably right.

The comedian has denied being an “anti-vaxxer”; earlier this year he made clear his conviction that fully healthy young people don’t need a COVID-19, and it remains unknown whether he has received any vaccine doses.

The Joe Rogan COVID-19 Experience

In a two-minute video posted online, Rogan revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend, and managed to recover in just three days.

He said he was subject to several different treatments, including taking ivermectin, a drug used for treating worm infections in cows and horses.

Rogan’s announcement comes amid warnings by local and federal government agencies that ivermectin should not be used as a COVID-19 treatment because it causes poisoning, with at least two people hospitalized as a result in the past few days.

The Arkansas Poison Center announced earlier this week that it has had a total of 24 calls so far in 2021 from people who ingested ivermectin – compared with a total of six such calls for the entire period between 2016 and 2020.

While ivermectin has approval by the Food and Drug Administration for application on humans, that is officially for treating skin diseases and parasitical infections, not for fighting COVID-19.

The drug, however, has been touted on social media as a coronavirus treatment since GOP lawmakers in Arkansas advocated using it for that purpose.

According to the warning of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), it is dangerous to take ivermectin to treat COVID-19 since the ingestion of larger doses is said to cause substantial harm to humans.

Leftist accusations

Numerous liberal leftists and other critiques of Joe Rogan took to Twitter to lambast him for promoting ivermectin as a COVID-19 treatment saying that he might cause a lot of people to die with his message in favor of the animal deworming drug.

One of those was former Democrat President Bill Clinton’s press secretary, Joe Lockhart, who accused Rogan of “misleading millions” which would lead “thousands” of people to die.

Lockhart further claimed that Rogan is “backed” by “some of the biggest corporations in the world”, apparently suggesting that the comedian is “advertising” the drug for money.
