Pink Opens Up in Interview with Reese Witherspoon
The pop star Pink recently shed light on how she is teaching her children about her own Jewish heritage. Pink revealed the stories during an interview with actress Reese Witherspoon on the show “Shine with Reese.”
The singer/songwriter told Witherspoon about how she used the travel opportunities on her 2017 “Beautiful Trauma” concert tour to teach her two kids about the world around them and their own heritage. While Pink acknowledged that taking her children on tour was tiring and tricky, she also said she felt fortunate to be able to leverage the chance to teach them about being Jewish.
Stop in Berlin
During the tour, Pink and her family visited Berlin, providing the perfect jumping-off point to delving into the horrors of the Holocaust. Pink shared a story of how she took her daughter Willow to the Holocaust Memorial Museum. While visiting the somber museum, Pink told Willow that it could have been them.
Comparing to Charlottesville
Pink also shared an emotional post on Instagram, acknowledging that she realizes how fortunate she was to perform in Berlin as a person of Jewish heritage. In this post, Pink expressed shock over the neo-Nazi groups marching in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She was able to draw parallels between Charlottesville and Berlin, pointing out that the German city is now full of love and light. Because of that truth, anything is possible.
Pink’s Heritage and Family Life
A native of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Pink was born on September 8, 1979, to Jim and Judith Moore. Jim is of English, German, Irish, and Scottish ancestry while Judith boasts Jewish heritage.
