Social Media Platforms Duke it Out in PPV Fights

In a show of the increasing popularity of social media platforms, a group of YouTubers and TikTokers squared off in a pay-per-view boxing event that garnered millions of viewers.

The much-anticipated event was held on June 12 in Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium. Billed as “Social Gloves: Battle of the Platforms,” this event had a little bit of everything. In addition to the various fights, the unprecedented PPV event also featured live music.

The top billing went to YouTuber Austin McBroom with 19 million followers going up against TikTok’er Bryce Hall with his 20 million followers. Allegedly, McBroom and Hall do not like each other, even going so far as to stage a fake fight at a press conference.

Results of Fights

So how did it all shake out? McBroom defeated Hall in the headliner fight. The AnEsonGib versus Tayler Holder fight ended in a majority draw. Vinnie Hacker reigned victorious over Deji while DDG beat Nate Wyatt. Faze Jarvis came out on top over Micheal Le with Landon McBroom declared the winner against Ben Azelart. Lastly, Ryan Johnston defeated Cale Saurage.

Money Talks

The PPV mega-event commanded a price tag of $49.99. Hall said that he made $5 million from the fight in addition to the 4% off the total of the PPV sales. McBroom did not confirm his salary.

With so much money on the table for both the participants and the promoters of these events, it is likely that this type of PPV event format will continue in the future.
