The saying ‘find the biggest kid in the yard and beat him up’ is something that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez seems to live by, once again going after one of the heavyweights in the United States Senate; Ted Cruz.

Senator Cruz is a very principled man who always stands up for what is right, in this instance, wanting to protect and ensure the fairness and integrity of the electoral process in the United States.

His position is understandable, especially since claims of electoral fraud have never been at this level in the history of the country.

However, Rep. AOC continues to launch her personal, scathing attacks against him, saying that he is implicit in the attack on Capitol Hill and that he should be removed from his duly elected position.

What was actually said?

AOC launched a number of tweets directed towards Senator Cruz, one of which included the following; “Your complete refusal to acknowledge any of the above harm, wrongdoing, or even misjudgment; & your lack of any self-reflection in how these acts contributed to yesterday’s chaos is alarming. It is unbecoming of any elected official and makes you unfit for the office you occupy.”

She followed up by saying; “Sen. Cruz, you must accept responsibility for how your craven, self-serving actions contributed to the deaths of four people yesterday.”

However, Senator Cruz rightfully defended himself, much to the dismay of AOC.

He took to Twitter to call out her lies; “Leading a debate in the Senate on ensuring election integrity is doing our jobs, and it’s in no way responsible for the despicable terrorists who attacked the Capitol yesterday,” he began, “And sorry, I ain’t going anywhere, When you and your socialist buddies try to massively raise taxes, when you try to pass the green new deal & destroy millions of jobs, when you push for amnesty, when you try to pack the Supreme Court w/ activists to undermine our Constitutional rights…I will fight that every step & stand with the People.”

Who was right?

Unfortunately for her, AOC still has a lot to learn when it comes to political discourse.

With no real political background before she won the election (which by no means decertifies her opinions), she naturally struggles when she attempts to take on seasoned Senators like Mr. Cruz.

AOC launched an unprecedented attack against a Senator who took the suggestions of election fraud seriously, a Senator who wants to preserve the integrity of the country he represents, and a Senator who almost won the Republican nomination for the presidency in 2016.

AOC made a bad move trying to take on Ted Cruz with her ill-informed and misguided agenda to remove a fairly elected Republican from office, something that may come back to haunt her later in her career.

The great divide

The divide in the American political landscape has never been as horrific as it is now. The atmosphere encouraged by the Democrats is causing a witch-haunt against rightfully elected Republicans.

Joe Biden promised unity and “healing” between both sides of the political spectrum, however, his promises and the promises of his representatives are at least - questionable.
