President Donald Trump recently made a strategic mistake when he encouraged Republicans to fight the results of the 2020 presidential election in the streets. While there is outrage and doubt surrounding the results of the election of Joe Biden, the riots that took place at the U.S. Capitol served to further the case being made by the left that Republicans are at the root of our nation’s issues. We can stop the left over the next four years, but there is a right way to go about it.

The Battle for Free Speech

Twitter recently suspended Donald Trump’s account, thanks in part to the urging of Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Democrats, especially Pelosi have made it no secret that they believe that free speech should only apply to citizens who agree with their liberal agenda, but we know that is not the case. While social media platforms have cracked down on the amount of free speech that they will allow, we can still fight for our constitutional right to disagree with the federal government.

Protests vs. Riots

Acts of violence like we saw at the Capitol are not the way to stifle the dangerous agenda of the left. Much like President Trump and his supporters condemned the violence, looting and riots that took place over much of 2020, acts of violence are not the best way to make our case. Instead, take part in peaceful protests where laws are obeyed but points are still presented.

The next four years have the potential to be among the worst in the history of our great nation. If Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the liberal democrats have their way, we could end up living in a socialist state. It is up to the American people to battle within the framework of the law to defend what makes America great.
