After donating his presidential salary during the last four years, President Trump may face financial losses after the Capitol building seizure. Facebook and Twitter quickly banned the president. Some businesses have prohibited him from doing business with them. His angry supporters are saying that if he is not welcome, then they will stop doing business with those companies.

The PGA announced that they were canceling their golf tournament scheduled at the Trump-owned Bedminster golf course in New Jersey. The organization had previously moved one of their championship events away from a Trump course after the president made remarks they found disparaging about Mexican immigrants.

New York City

New York City has canceled Trump’s contract. Eric and Donald Junior operated the president’s business empire while the president donated his time to the American people. Trump ran the carousel in Central Park, two ice skating rinks, and a golf course in the Bronx. Mayor de Blasio says that the city can legally cancel a contract if the organization they are doing business with engages in any illegal activity.

Political Donations

Many corporations have said that they will pause donations to lawmakers who voted to reject certification of Electoral College votes. These companies include:

  • Walt Disney Corporation
  • Comcast
  • Microsoft
  • Google
  • Verizon
  • Amazon
  • JPMorgan Chase
  • Citigroup
  • Marriott International
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Association
  • Boston Scientific
  • Dow Chemical
  • BlackRock

While some companies have made the announcement themselves, others have said that their political action committees will not be making donations. These include:

  • AT&T’s Federal PAC
  • BP’s employee PAC
  • Airbnb PAC
  • Goldman Sachs PAC
  • Walmart PAC

While these corporations, cities, and other entities have chosen not to support President Trump, his supporters are quickly abandoning them.
