Because of the efforts of Democrats to impeach President Trump twice — and both times on dubious charges — they may now have to learn that what goes around comes around.
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a freshman Republican Congresswoman from Georgia, says that on January 21, one day after Joe Biden is set to be inaugurated as President of the United States, she will be filing articles of impeachment against him.
Signs of a Transformed Republican Party
Greene’s decision and her status as a freshman Congresswoman strongly suggest that the GOP is being transformed and that the party’s new blood will be more radical, less willing to compromise with the left, more open to President Trump’s populist message, and less willing to sell out its base in order to gain favor in Washington.
“I’m tired of Republicans who lay down and allow this country to be ravaged,” she said. Announcing her decision during an interview with Newsmax primetime host Greg Kelly, she added, “We cannot have a president of the United States that is willing to abuse the power of the office of the presidency and be easily bought off by foreign governments, Chinese energy companies, and Ukrainian energy companies.”
Why Greene Will Try to Impeach Biden
In the above statement, Greene was alluding to the fact Joe Biden and his family — particularly his son Hunter and his brother Jim — have an enormous amount of shady connections to companies all over the world. There are strong reasons to think that the lucrative financial arrangements that the Biden family had entered into through its deals with these companies were due to Joe Biden’s former position as vice president of the United States and the political influence that that position carried.
As journalist Peter Schweitzer and others have long detailed now, it has become common for politicians from both parties to use their influence to insert their family members into key positions at prominent companies, make sure that they win lucrative government contracts, and so on. Because the family members then profit, the politicians themselves indirectly come to profit as well.
Most concerning in the Joe Biden case, perhaps, is the fact that Chinese tech and energy companies are known to have extremely tight connections to the Chinese government and the Chinese Communist Party. The Biden family’s connections to such companies mean that they are connected to the Chinese government. Moreover, as files from Hunter Biden’s laptop have shown, he has had sexual relationships with known CCP spies, raising the risk that he might have handed over critical information to them.
In 2018, Joe Biden also admitted on video to arranging corrupt deals in Ukraine. A Ukrainian natural gas company named Burma Holdings had Hunter Biden on its board at the time. Since Hunter had no work experience in the area of natural gas, it’s clear that he was put on the board to secure political influence for his father.
A prosecutor named Viktor Shokin was investigating Burma for corruption at the time. Biden threatened then Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with the loss of a $1 billion loan from the U.S. if he did not fire Shokin.
“I said, ‘You’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in,’ I think it was, ‘about six hours.’ I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’”
Then, Biden smiled and said, “Well, son of a bitch, he got fired.”
