A new migrant caravan originating in Honduras — now estimated to contain as many as 9,000 people — has been barreling forward into the U.S. on the news that Joe Biden is set to be sworn in as the next President of the United States.
Anyone who still needs more proof that the left wants illegal immigration as a way to increase its own political power should take heed of a warning issued to this caravan by one official from the incoming Biden Administration.
A Very Thinly Veiled Warning
Speaking to NBC News, the transition team official, whose name has not yet been ascertained, said, “The situation at the border isn’t going to be transformed overnight. There’s help on the way, but now is not the time to make the journey.”
Why does this official insist that the migrants shouldn’t attempt to come to the U.S. now? It’s certainly not because he or she shares any of the concerns of ordinary Americans of immigrants taking their jobs, reducing their wages or irrevocably changing the communities and neighborhoods that they know and love.
And it’s absolutely not because this official shares the worries of many conservatives who warn that allowing in more illegal immigrants entails — due to these people’s voting patterns — effective political extinction for the GOP.
The reason for the official’s concern is that the Trump Administration had all sorts of border security measures in place to prevent messes like the one making its way from Honduras. These measures will require some time for Biden and his cabinet to dismantle. Until they are dismantled, the 9,000 migrants will not get the easy passage into the U.S. that they seem to think they will get.
Among these measures are the Title 42 Coronavirus protection protocols put in place by the CD, which introduced strict border controls.
It seems that for the left, everything emerging from the CDC is holy writ — unless, of course, it stymies the left’s immigration agenda.
As for the migrants themselves, reports indicate that they want American jobs. One migrant in the caravan has said to a reporter, “We are trusting in God to open our path. Biden is supposed to give us work opportunities.”
It’s Always Ultimately About Power
It has also been reported that on the very first day of his presidency, Biden will introduce amnesty legislation that will make 11 million or so illegal immigrants into American citizens with full voting rights.
Despite President Trump’s semi-successful efforts to make inroads into the Hispanic community, Hispanics still vote Democrat in significant majorities. This amnesty bill, therefore, will require the GOP to either repudiate its older ideology — and the millions of people who support it — or effectively become irrelevant on the national stage.
