Sarah Fuller has accepted an invitation to Biden’s inauguration. She was the Southeastern Conference’s player who became the first woman in league conference to score during a football game. She says she is thrilled with the invitation and happy to see that women are finally breaking through the glass ceiling.

Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez to Perform at Inauguration

Lady Gaga will sing the National Anthem before Biden and Harris are sworn into office. Jennifer Lopez will sing live. Organizers also expect Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington to perform remotely during the swearing-in ceremony. The crowd size will be severely limited because of the recent unrest in the capitol and the pandemic. Former Georgetown University President Reverend Leo O’Donovan will give the invocation. Georgia firefighter Andrea Hall will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and National Youth Poet Laureate Amanda German will read a poem. The closing prayer will be said by Silvester Beaman of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Wilmington, Delaware.

Pass of Review

As soon as the swearing in is complete at the U.S. Capitol, Joe and Dr. Biden, Kamala Harris and second gentleman Doug Emhoff will complete a pass in review of the military troops on the capitol’s east lawn.

Virtual Parade

While the president usually goes from his inauguration to the White House in a parade, a virtual parade will replace the real one this year. It will feature performances by groups from across the United States.

Live TV Performances

A special 90-minute television show in prime time is scheduled to air on the night of Jan. 20, 2021, hosted by Tom Hanks. Likely performers include Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, Demi Lovato and Ant Clemons.

Virtual Ball

Biden and Harris will have to settle for a virtual ball during their inauguration. The ball benefits art education. Servers will deliver food simultaneously to people in multiple cities.

The coronavirus has scaled back Biden’s inauguration, but it will still have a very celebratory theme.
