Despite being busy guiding his team to the NFC Championship Game, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still finding the time to speak out about what truly matters to him. The Hall of Famer recently appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show,” speaking out about matters not just related to football. During the interview, Rodgers criticized many of the nation’s top Democratic leaders for their blatant hypocrisy when it comes to how they have handled the COVID-19 crisis and the resulting economic downturn.

Hypocrisy Called Out

Rodgers has been particularly critical of leaders from his home state of California. Amidst the raging pandemic, California Gov. Gavin Newsom was caught dining out with a large group despite telling his constituents to stay home to stop the spread of the virus. Rodgers also called out Austin Mayor Steve Adler for vacationing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, after telling his city to cancel all non-essential travel.

Overall Criticism of Government

The All-Pro quarterback also took issue with the overall government for failing to provide what is needed for many Americans to get through this crisis. Rodgers pointed out that the country cannot count on its government leaders to provide a swift and adequate response, using the slow speed of distributing the $600 stimulus checks as an example.

Rodgers Offers Praise to Barstool Sports

Rodgers did not just use the platform to be negative about the government leaders. He also took the opportunity to praise Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy and his Barstool Fund. This fund has the goal of raising money for small businesses that are struggling because of the pandemic and economic shutdown.
