Another day, another lie by a politician.
While stumping for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in Georgia, Biden offered to bribe prospective voters with $2,000 checks in exchange for their votes.
But guess what, folks in Georgia: You aren’t going to get your $2,000 checks.
Biden said during one campaign stop, “By electing John and the reverend, you can make an immediate difference in your own lives and the lives of people all across this country. Because their election will put an end to the block in Washington on that $2,000 stimulus check. That money will go out the door immediately to help people who are in trouble.”
Well, Ossoff and Warnock have now been placed into the Senate. With Kamala Harris as VP, Democrats can break all tie votes there and effectively control that body. Putting aside the morality of so blatantly bribing voters — and of the fact that Donald Trump had actually wanted to give people $2,000 stimulus checks before Biden ever mentioned the idea —a deal is a deal, right?
Democrats have now walked back their original stimulus check promise. Instead of $2,000 the peons will now only be getting $1,400. Since $600 checks have already been sent out to people, the two payments together come out to $2,000. Even though they explicitly promised voters separate $2,000 checks, Democratic politicians don’t consider this to be misleading.
This was entirely predictable — Democratic politicians aren’t exactly known for their stalwart commitment to truth and eschewal of all personal and political interest — but people in Georgia are outraged all the same.
One man named Rogelio Linares said, “I was on the ground and I knocked on over 1,000 doors. At the doors, I was literally telling people, ‘$2K checks, you can rely on this.’ I’m a man of principle and morals, and I feel like shit. I lied to them. I was lying to them the whole time…This is pretty much a betrayal of the working class.”
The Most Ridiculous Thing of All
Perhaps the most absurd thing, however, is that since this money comes from the government before it can be “given” to Georgia voters, it must first be taken from them in the form of either taxation or inflation.
Biden and his cronies are bribing Georgians with their own money, and then don’t even have the decency to pay the full bribe.
If that’s not chutzpah, then the word “chutzpah” has no meaning.
People may be outraged about this, but nothing will ever come of that outrage unless they remember all of these betrayals and simply refuse to continue believing the promises of politicians any longer.
The sad truth is that as long as there are people with socialist leanings who believe that the government has magical powers, politicians will always have easy targets to dupe.
