As part of his effort to erase all traces that the Trump administration ever existed, Biden will issue more executive orders that both undo the immigration restrictions that Trump enacted because of COVID-19 and now allow more immigrant work visas to be issued.

A Tide of Illegals Is Coming

According to CBS News, Biden’s new orders “would rescind the Trump proclamations that precluded the admission of immigrants and non-immigrants either deemed to be a financial burden on our health care system or deemed to present a risk to U.S. labor markets.”

Biden’s Deputy Director of the Domestic Policy Council, Esther Olavarria, also said the following about the Trump policies that Biden was undoing: “These were policies that ignored the decades, and centuries actually, of contributions that immigrants have made to our economy, to our society, to our culture.”

This is all happening as a migrant caravan formed in Honduras and now consisting of over 9,000 people is making its way toward the U.S. border. It’s also happening after Biden announced plans to introduce legislation that would grant amnesty to the estimated 11 million immigrants who are living in the U.S. illegally.

Unemployment is already high as a result of the restrictions that have been enacted in response to COVID-19, and admitting more immigrants would only increase downward pressure on wages and make it more difficult for the labor market to adjust.

However, Democrats’ first priority is always to do whatever is necessary to secure and augment their power. Since Hispanics have long been a solidly pro-Democrat voting base, importing more Hispanic immigrants only furthers that end.

But Kids Still Can’t Go Back to School

If Trump’s restrictions on immigration can be abolished, then that must mean that immigrants no longer present the danger of infecting Americans with COVID-19. And if that’s the case, then surely there is no harm in allowing kids to go back to school. After all, it has long been known that children are in the least danger from the virus.

That would make sense, but it’s foolish to expect things to make sense. According to the Hill, the Biden administration’s plan to reopen most K-12 schools within 100 days “may not happen.” This is despite the fact that even the CDC now claims that, with certain precautions, it is already safe to do so.

The Biden administration cares more about illegal immigrants than it does about American children.

The only way to make sense of this behavior is to see it as a power grab.
