Mace Showing Her Toughness

Freshman Rep. Nancy Mace is already making a mark on the House of Representatives, proving that she is not going to back down in this new role. The latest conflict came from Rep. Ilhan Omar. The Democrat from Minnesota tried to engage Mace, and it did not go well for her.

Mace Takes Issue With Pelosi

The exchange began when Mace tweeted her displeasure with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s comments alleging that the “enemy is within the House of Representatives.” Last week’s comments by Pelosi were in reference to freshman Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and her fellow Republican colleagues who wish to exercise their rights to bring a gun onto the floor of Congress.

Mace took on Pelosi by calling her remarks irresponsible and reckless, pointing out that every situation does not need to be escalated to the point of no return.

Omar Jumps In

As expected, it did not take long for Omar to jump into the argument. In a response to Mace, Omar said that the threat indeed comes from members threatening other members, referring to harassment that she and fellow Rep. Rashida Tlaib have allegedly experienced.

But Mace was having none of it. She quickly retorted back a response that reminded Omar of her tendency to be anti-Semitic. It will be interesting to see how the media responds to what is already shaping up to be a contentious relationship between Mace and the media darlings Omar, Tlaib, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Republicans have to be pleased that Mace is willing to step in and assert herself while defending the party.
