The Boss Arrested and Charged with DWI
On Super Bowl Sunday, Jeep ran an ad promoting unity featuring Bruce Springsteen. Just a few days later, the rock star was arrested on charges of DWI in his home state of New Jersey. It did not take long for rumors regarding the arrest to be floated from the left.
Details of the Arrest
The Statement of Probable Cause from the arrest records demonstrates that the radical left musician admitted to taking two shots of tequila over a period of just 20 minutes. The report details that Springsteen presented with glossy eyes while reeking of alcohol. The responding officer said that Springsteen was visibly swaying back and forth as he performed the sobriety test.
In addition, he failed many elements of two different field sobriety tests and also refused to take the breathalyzer.
Rumors Circulate Thanks to Band Member
Shortly after the arrest made the news headlines, Springsteen E Street Band member Stevie Van Zandt jumped on the bandwagon, promoting rumors that his bandmate only blew a .02 on the breathalyzer. These rumors quickly spiraled out of control on social media.
Many of the worst statements called for the arresting officer to be revealed and have a hit put on him. Rather than shut down the threat of violence, Van Zandt retweeted a comment calling for the hit job.
Shortly before retweeting the call for violence, Van Zandt also got into a Twitter argument with user Lance Morgan regarding whether or not US Senators should be able to make their vote for the impeachment of former President Donald Trump private or not. In the argument, Van Zandt referred to Trump supporters as “inbreds.”
