A former Trump Administration intern has announced his candidacy to become the Senior Class President at Hillsdale College, a known Conservative powerhouse institution in southern Michigan.
Andrew Szewc, a junior finance and international business student served in the Trump White House under the Executive Office of the President, working under the Office of Speechwriting throughout the summer of 2019, an experience that he described as ‘surreal.’
Now, Szewc faces a new challenge, after he received a nomination to be placed on the general ballot for the Senior Class President at Hillsdale College.
In order to win the election, Szewc needs to triumph against three other nominees, however, his reputable experience having worked in the Trump White House will certainly give him a huge advantage.
Ellen Hancock, Jacob Hooper, and Lily McHale all stand in his path to victory.
Hadiah Ritchey, who is the Project Manager for Hillsdale College Career Services, informed all four nominees via email that they were expecting a ‘strong voter turnout.’
But who exactly is this guy?
You may have never heard of Andrew Szewc, but his achievements at such a young age topple many who stand before him.
As mentioned previously, he served in the Trump White House as an intern throughout the summer of 2019, where he engaged in detailed research regarding a vast variety of topics, ranging from general infrastructure to the quality of living in countries that are based on the other side of the globe.
During his time in this role, he examined the policies that were being set out regarding these topics, analyzing them to access the impact they would have on the American people.
In the summer of 2020, despite what was going on in the world with the current pandemic, Szewc interned at an independent wealth management firm in Birmingham, Michigan, to further build on his experiences.
He is set to retain this position later this summer.
He also serves in a variety of roles on campus to assist his fellow students.
Szewc currently volunteers as a Careers Coach; working for the career’s office on campus, serving as the Chairman of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, and as the Men’s Greek Life Outreach Chairman for the Catholic Society.
On top of these roles, Szewc also works as a junior analyst for the Investment Club at Hillsdale College.
With this impressive resume, he is all but certain to win the election for Senior Class President, with the election set to take place from March 29th through till April 1st.
