By now, it should be absolutely no surprise to anyone that the mainstream media has rushed in to defend and make excuses for California Representative Maxine Waters’ recent psychotic and dangerous comments about the Chauvin trial.

The media is an overt propaganda machine that lies to the public with impunity and has no purpose anymore other than to prop up decadent elites and keep them in power by any means necessary.

Still, although nothing about the media’s behavior is surprising, it warrants some discussion if only to show how far America’s civic spirit has fallen and to what extent its institutions are simply no longer trustworthy.

The Propaganda Churns On

First, let’s briefly revisit Waters’ comments about the Chauvin trial. As this is being written, the jury is preparing to render a verdict, and many expect that we will have one before the end of April 20.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, April 17, Waters said, “We’re looking for a guilty verdict and we’re looking to see if all of the talk that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd. If nothing happens, then we know that we got to not only stay in the street, but we have got to fight for justice.”

She then continued, “We got to stay on the street. And we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.”

In other words, if the jury doesn’t rule the way that Waters and the political manipulators who agree with her want it to, then people must be assembled and made to riot.

A jury trial conducted with such comments hanging over people’s heads cannot be a real jury trial. The purpose of a jury trial is to resolve disputes through a fair procedure and not plunge things into the hands of mob justice. But whenever you essentially threaten to incite riots if things don’t go your way, as Waters has done, the process becomes tainted with the threat of mob justice.

This is completely opposed to everything in the entire history of the Western legal tradition. Even judge Peter Cahill, who is presiding over the trial, called Waters’ comments “abhorrent” and said that Chauvin might be able to use them to be granted an appeal if he happens to be convicted.

But the media doesn’t care. Its sole job is to spread propaganda and defend the powerful — which in this case is the left — at any cost.

Thus, as is to be expected, people like the empty-headed host of The View Joy Behar rushed to defend Waters. CNN also published an article recently which said that Waters’ comments actually “drew out the hypocrisy of pro-Donald Trump Republicans over incitement to violence.” In other words, the article continues to repeat the utter and complete lie that Donald Trump incited a riot on Jan. 6 when he in fact explicitly told his supporters to “peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard” that day.

When thinking about CNN, by the way, one should now always remember the recent expose conducted by project Veritas, where Charlie Chester, a technical director at CNN, laughs on camera referring to CNN’s news coverage as “propaganda.”

These people simply have no shame.
