America’s humiliation of not just having surrendered to the murderous Islamist Taliban but also of relying on their mercy and honesty after Biden unilaterally and voluntarily removed all US forces from Afghanistan the evening of August 30 appears to be never-ending.
The Islamists had supposedly promised America’s surrendering president Sleepy Joe Biden that they would be allowing Americans and US allies to leave the country – and they have naturally and expectedly lied to him.
‘Deeply disturbing’ ‘hostage crisis’
The Taliban is apparently holding six charter planes packed with evacuees ready to leave the country – practically keeping them as hostages – and are in talks with the State Department but their demands, whatever they might be, remain unclear.
According to various reports, the six planes contain up to 1,200 evacuees, including 19 US citizens and two US permanent residents.
The planes are at the airport in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, about 260 miles north of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul.
They have been waiting for the Taliban to let them take off for six days now.
The hostage situation has been confirmed by Republican Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas, who told Fox News Sunday that “the Taliban is holding” these people “hostage for demands right now.”
McCaul, who is the highest-ranking Republican on the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House, revealed that the US State Department has cleared the flights in question to be received at a US base but Biden’s theoretical Islamist buddies “will not let them leave the airport.”
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, who is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, also substantiated the reports later on Sunday in a Twitter post.
He reminded that “Biden abandoned Americans in Afghanistan,” and revealed that members of the US Congress including himself have been “working around the clock” to try to get these out of Afghanistan, as the State Department hasn’t been able to take action on the matter for days.
Cruz added there are “deeply disturbing reports” about a “hostage crisis” now at the airport in Mazar-i-Sharif.
Zero Americans evacuated since the pullout
McCaul emphasized that not a single US citizen – “zero” persons – has been evacuated from Afghanistan since Biden withdrew all American troops – despite the Taliban’s promise they won’t be hindering anyone from leaving.
There have been reports that the Taliban rulers of Afghanistan are negotiating with the Department of State in order to allow the planes to take off from Mazar-i-Sharif but there hasn’t been any information on the nature of their demands.
Of course, after Biden took every single US soldier out of the country because all Americans had left, it was only a matter of time before such a “hostage crisis” would happen, with the lives of the US citizens and American allies in the hands of the bloodthirsty Islamists whom Biden trusted.
