Intra-Democratic Party conflicts between the progressivists and the still-retaining-some-common-sense moderates has dealt another hefty blow to the hopes of President Joe “Empty Shelves” Biden to pass both his $1.75 trillion social spending package and the $1.2 trillion supposedly bipartisan infrastructure bill.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was planning on holding votes on both bills on Friday.

For the infrastructure bill already approved by the Senate, including with partial GOP support, that was supposed to seal its adoption.

The House was also supposed to approve the “Build Back Better” social and environmental pork-barrel spending bill, even if its giant price tag has been halved from the original $3.5 trillion thanks to the opposition of moderate Democrat Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.

Full collapse of both Biden spending plans looms large

Pelosi’s plan and Biden’s hopes were dashed on Friday as a small group of moderate Democrat members of the House demanded that Congressional Budget Office after all run the numbers of the bill to see if they add up – which hasn’t been done until now.

Getting the CBO scores likely means a delay on the vote on “Build Back Better” by weeks, likely up until Thanksgiving.

The ever more impudent far-left progressivist Democrats in the House have reacted to this by immediately rallying up with a serious threat to kill the infrastructure bill already greenlighted by the Senate – as they have been insisting that the two giant pieces of legislation go together.

In order to save face, the liberal empress of the House, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, switched to holding a procedural vote on the Build Back Better package – which would advance the bill but doesn’t stipulate its adoption.

According to Fox News reports, Pelosi is still expected to go ahead with a vote on the infrastructure bill on Friday with the hope of finally passing it, and doing so in its own right, and not in a pair with the social spending bill.

However, that might not even be possible because progressivist Democrat lawmakers have been really riled up by the new failure to vote on their favorite pork-barrel spending “Build Back Better” bill.

Progressivists unperturbed

Congressional sources are cited as saying that about 20 Democrat members of the House of Representatives, all of them progressivists led by the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are rallying up in order to vote down the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill.

In spite of the pleas and various procedural moves by Pelosi, the Democrat leadership, and the White House, the Congressional Progressive Caucus appears unperturbed in its demands that the two giant spending pieces of legislation be voted upon by the House at the same time.

The situation is rapidly shaping into a giant fiasco for Biden and the Democrats – especially if the CPC leftist radicals go ahead and vote down the infrastructure bill which the Biden administration spent months to get through the Senate by barely managing to negotiate some Republican support.
