The riots at Capitol Hill shocked the world.

However, the reaction of many high-level political figures, and reports of mainstream media, present a stark contrast to what happened with the BLM protests last summer.

Not all riots are equal, no matter the victims?

5 people are believed to have died after a large groups of protesters in Washington DC broke away and marched onto Capitol Hill, after Mike Pence announced he would follow his constitutional duty of ratifying the decision of the electoral college.

A part of protesters turned into rioters, forcing their way into the Capitol, vandalizing the property, and attacking police.

What did Joe Biden say?

President-elect Biden condemned the violence, and accused Donald Trump of failing to act;

“What we saw yesterday, in plain view was another violation of a fundamental tenet of this nation. Not only do we see the failure to protect one of the three branches of our government. We also saw a clear failure to carry out equal justice.”

Biden also mentioned the Black Lives Matter group, who caused riots and civil unrest up and down the country in the summer of last year;

“No one can tell me that if it had been a group of Black Lives Matter protesting yesterday, they wouldn’t have been treated very, very differently than the mob of thugs that stormed the Capitol.”

So, what about Black Lives Matter?

Unfortunately, the President-elect fails to take into account the overwhelming amount of evidence that shows a scarce lack of police presence around the Capitol at the time of the riots.

Biden tried to make these events a “racial issue”, and cited that police would’ve acted very differently if the rioters were apart of BLM.

However, the President-elect is deeply wrong in this instance, as are the countless number of US politicians who cower behind him and his politics.

On the other hand, the Capitol’s response boiled down to the reputation of the Conservatives, largely due to the fact that the Conservatives are simply less likely to riot and destroy property.

The presence of the police at right-wing protests is generally small, as was the situation at the Capitol.

The police presence at the BLM rallies is justified

BLM has a history of turning peaceful protests into violent riots, which leads to the destruction of private property and assaults on police officers.

Joe Biden’s claims have no basis in truth, as the BLM protests are much more violent and usually cause much more damage than was the case at the Capitol.

However, CNN, and the rest of mainstream media, failed to point out one very important fact.

BLM protests in Washington DC in June turned violent as rioters attacked police and burnt African-American businesses and other buildings to the ground, setting Washington ablaze.

What was the media’s reaction to these events?

Well, these were mostly peaceful protests…
